The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) is one of the top 10 museums in North America. It’s Canada’s biggest museum and has a huge collection of 18 million cultural objects, artworks, artifacts, and natural history specimens. You can explore these items in 40 different galleries and exhibits.

Over a million people visit the ROM every year, making it Canada’s most popular museum. You can find it near the University of Toronto, and there’s even a subway station named after it.

(*) Although generally there’s an entrance fee, there are also multiple ways to visit the ROM for free:

  • 3rd Tuesday Nights Free: Free tickets are available to all visitors from 4:30 pm – 8:30 pm
    (Normally, a single-visit ticket for adults is $23 to $30).
    Includes access to most galleries and live performances from community partners.
    Advanced tickets or bookings are not required. First come, first served.
  • Free every Tuesday for Post-Secondary Students: Present your student ID for admission; valid for full-time students (including international students) attending a Canadian college or university.
  • Attendants supporting persons with disabilities receive free admission to the level of admission purchased by the person they are supporting.
  • Holders of Toronto Public Library card (tpl:map Pass): Present your tpl:map pass for admission; each pass is valid for a maximum of four (4) visitors.

  • Canoo Cultural Access Pass. Through this program, international students, new permanent residents and new Canadian citizens can receive free General Admission to the ROM for themselves and up to four (4) dependent minors. Simply present the Canoo app on your phone for admission.

Additionally, there is a discount for PRESTO and Ride GO card holders.
PRESTO cardholders and GO Transit riders save 15% off regular Museum admission rates including: General Admission and Special Exhibitions. Cannot be used with other promotions.
